Archdeacon Williams returned from Auckland by the s.s Alonowtii yesterday 'afternoon. Hon. Cnptli'Vi Tucker arrived -from south by the s.s. Aloana on Saturday morning. Air. R. Henley, of the -local telegraph staff, who has been transferred to Pahner-iton North, left for that place bv the s.s. Alonowai last evening. (Before leaving, he was -met by bis comiudes. -and Air. Young, who acted as spokesman, expressed their deep regret -at Air. Henley’s departure. and Washed him success in the southern town. He then presented Air. Henley with a handsome dressing ease, as u token of his comrades’ esteem; the recipient making «i suitable reply. Air. J. B. Gow, who 'is contesting the Bav of Plenty electorate as an Opposition candidate, was in Gisborne on Sa-ttyday. ■Mr. ,H. -N. Holmes, genera! secretary to the AVe'lington Y/A1.0.A.. returned to Wellington yesterday.
