HORSE SALES. Messrs AAMlliams and Kettle, Ltd., yarded about 20 hacks and Harness horses at their weekly sa'e on Saturday. Hacks sold from £5 to £l2, and two t'lirec-year-old fillies brought £23. CUSTOMS DUTIES. The following were the Customs duties collected in Gisborne during. July:—Spirits £1995 6s. cigars £IBB 2s Gd, tobacco £421 Us 6d, wine £152 15s 6(1, beer £39 4s; total £3490 6s 4d. Ollier receipts £594 9s 6d. The exports were : Beef 6142ewt, valued at £6564: mutton, 12,734 cwt. valued at £16,359; lamb,. 2032 cwt, valued at £3671: hides, 346, valued at £387 ; skins, _3245d0z, valued at £1395 ’ ’ tolls, valued nt ' PRODUCE MARKETS. F. S. Malcolm and Co. report a. large attendance of buvers at their produce-sales on Saturday last. Prices were as follows:—Roosters Is 6d to 2s 9d, liens Is 5d to 2s 3d, ducks 2s, eggs Is 6d, butter Is. onions (very few offering) 2d lb, table ■ potatoes (Derwents and Up-to-Date) 7s 6d ewt Id lb (in small ouantitios), seed potatoes 8s 6d ewt. A shrub and fruit tree.sale followed, and all the lot offered found buvers.

There was a good attendance, and active competition for merino.?, fine grades, full-woolled. Compared with the June sales, merino combings and fine crossbred combings were Id per lb dearer. All other qualities "'ere par to $d cheaper. 'The next saies will be held on September 10. Af the wooil auctions there was an animated sale. Prices are very firm.
