Seven hundred miles of railway to be constructed is all that is required to complete the long-talked-of Cape to Cairo 11 ailro'iid. There is a good prospect of much of the construction being undertaken before long, so that tho day when at will bn possible to travel by rail 'and, lake and river steamer from 'Egypt to South Africa is not far distant-. Tho terminus of the Rhodesian railway line is already some 400 miles north of tho great Victoria Falls of the Zambesi, which are already visited by ninny tourists. It is proposed to extend this line /to Lake Tanganyika. This will leave the 300 miles between Lake Tanganyika and Lake Albert Edward to be covered to complete the Cope to Cairo route. There is already considerable tourist travol -from Cairo to Lake Victoria Nyanza, and between there and Lake Tanganyika lies much magnificent scenery that will undoubtedly prove most attractive.
