Air Warton, secretary of tho '1 ram Employees Union, officially announced at 8.30 to-night that the strike had been declared off. (Received July 30, 1.10 a.m.) Air AVarton’s announcement that tho strike was off was leceived with great dissatisfaction by 1000 strokeis, ivho were assembled at the .1 ratios H£ A scene of wild disorder followed, and the leaders were denounced, booted and threatened. AVhen Lawton and AVarton reached the street they were chased by a big mob of intimated men, and were compelled to take refuge in an hotel, from which the police rescued them. . The trams are running to-night. The question of tramway management is involving general discussion, and tho matter of the strike lias been transferred to the Assembly, where a debate is proceeding on a further amendment to tho Addross-in-Reply moved by Air.
