The Gisborne Times. PUBLISHED EVERY MORNING. WEDNESDAY, JULY 29, 1903. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
Considering the shortness of notico concerning the meeting held in the Farmers’ Club Rooms yesterday afternoon for tho purpose of resuscitating tho old Chamber of Comnierco tho attendance must be looked upon ns satisfactory. It was -particularly gratifying to nolo that those present included leading business men of the town, and that (lie proceedings, although necessarily of a preliminary nature, were marked by a unanimity of purpose and an enthusiasm that augurs most favorably for tho future of tho body that is to bo formed. It is understood that special stops will bo taken to thoroughly advertise the date of noxt meeting, and if this is done, there will probably be till attendance largo enough to adequately demonstrate tho public interest that exists in regard to one of tho most important movements that lias been initiated in Gisborne for some time.
