ENTERTAINMENTS.

THE MALLINSON SONG RECITAL The song recital of Mr,' anjl Mrs. Albert Mallinson (Madame Anna Steinbauer) will be given in His Majesty’s Theatre tins evening. The woiks of the famous English composer are numerous. They total over 300, but are of such a high standard as to have won him the position of England’s .leading composer of songs. A London paper, referring to a recentrecital of the Mallinsons, said: “The songs are gems of vocal art, the words have been chosen from the best sources, and possess reason as well as rhyme, a combination not always found. Some of the songs show rare perception of the best moans to socuro desired effect to a degree that amounts to genius. ‘Slow Horse Slow and are beautiful songs, representative of the highest art of the composer.” New Zealand has bad visits from great song artistes, but seldom from celebrated song composers. With Mrs. .Mallinson’s (Denmark’s leading singer) interpretations of her husband’s songs, the recitals should bo an enormous success. Owing to their other engagements, only this one recital can ho given. Included in the company are Mr William Robyns (basso), Ms's Kebe Kussmann (violinist), and Miss Evelyn AVyrnan (pianist).
