HORSE SALES
Messrs Williams and Kettle, Ltd., offered about 72 horses of various sortg at auction at Wyllie’e bazaar on Saturday. Unbroken ponies brought from £3 to £4, 10 draughts from £25 to £l3O, light draughts from £ll to £lB, and hacks from £5 to iM2 10s.
The racehorses Canon and Te Arai were also offered on behalf of Mr. J. Clark. Carron was sold to Mr. F. Sleddon for 42 guineas, and To Arai was pased in at 40 guineas. The hurdle racer Banker was also offered, hut was passed in at 15 guineas. PRODUCE SALES.
Messrs F. S. Malcolm and Co., auctioneers, report the following prices realised at their produce sales on Saturday : —Ducks is lOd to 2s, roasters Is 7d to 3s, hens Is 8d to 2s 3d, eggs Is 9d to Is lOd, butter lid, onions Id to ljd per lb,, pumpkins Os per doz., cabbages 3s to os per doz., sin ill vegetables at recent quotations. A good sale of pot plants was also held, the prices realised being satisfactory. M essrs Miller and Craig report the following prices realised at their produce sales on Saturday:—Heii6 Is 8d to 2s 3d, roosters 2s to Os 9d, ducks 2s ,turkeys (liens) 4s, pumpkins 3s to 4s sack,, eggs Is 9d to Is lid, butter Is to Is 2d,-piddling onions lid lb, table onions Lid to lid, lemons 5d doz., onion plants fid bundle, swedes 2s Od bag, potatoes 3s Od hag, citron melons Ad doz., .cabbage 2s Id to os 3d doz., carrots 3s id'doz., turnips 2s doz., leeks Is doz., cauliflowers 2s 3d t.o 9s doz., preserved Units 10s doz , seeded raisins 6s doz. packets, dates 4s 6d doz. packets, sardines 3s doz. tins, bananas 3s Od "ase.
