BREACHES OF DISCIPLINE. AN OFFICER ON TRIAL. [Press Association.] DUNEDIN, July 10. As a result of the recent troublo in the North Dunedin Rifles consequent on the Officer Commanding the District refusing to accept Benfell’s appointment as a lieutenant, charges of insubordination have been, preierred against four non-commissioned officers, Color-Sergeant Harbour, Sergeant Kilpatrick, Sergeant Bradley, ; and Private Dippie. The charges were that they had put forward a resolution reflecting on the action of their superior officer. The charges wore dismissed on tho ground of tho participation of the officer commanding tho company (Lieutenant Begg) in tho proceedings, resulting in a serious breach of discipline on the part of the non-commissioned officers. Lieutenant Begg is to be tried beforo a special court of inquiry to-morrow.
