GISBORNE RACING CLUB. STEERLECHASE MEETING. Tho Gisborne Racing Club’s Steeplechase mooting will commeuco op-tho Park racecourse to-day, when a programme of seven, events, composing throe jumping and four flat races, will bo submitted. Tho weather promises- to bo fine, and as a largo number of horses from all parts of tho North Island aro engaged, ,an attractive clay’s sport should be witnessed. Every accommodation has boon made for tlio convenience of the public, tho totalisator will bo dn use, and bookmakers will bo licensed. Trains will leave tho Gisborne railway station for the course at 7 a.m., 11 a.m., 12.25 p.m., and 4.10 p.m., while a special Taco train will leave the course for town at 4.40 p.m., immediately after the'last race. A train wll leave Waikolnt at- 8.51 a.m., Pulia at. 9.11 a.m./ and Tc Karaka at 920 a.m., arriving at the course at 10.20 a.m., muh in tlio afternoon will leave the racecourso platform at 1.40 p m. for Waikolni. Drags, and coivoyanccs will also run from town at various intervals. Tho business people ■have boon- asked by the Mayoi (Mr. \V. D. Lysnar) to close thmr shops at noon, instead of at 1 p n , 60 as to give tho assistants an opportunity to attend the meeting. Tho f.Jlowing is to-day’s programme: HANDICAP HURDLE RACE, 12 miles.
