Alexander Beailie, laborer, aged 38, a recent arrival from Masterton who attempted suicide at Hastings on June 27th by cutting his throat witli a razor, died in ■ Napier Hospital oil Saturday afternoon. AVELLINGTON-, July 5. Two wharf laborers, Charles Lawson and Joseph AViggins, pleaded not guilty yesterday to a charge of stealing from the s's. Dee Brothers general "store, with attached dwelling, was completely destroyed by fire early this morning and the adjoining premises were somewhat damaged.
