BREAD COUPONS.

REDUCTION IN TRICE.

A meeting of the Gisborne Master! Bakers’ Association was held yesterday afternoon, when it was decided to reduce the price of bread coupons to Its Od per dozen. Speaking to a “Times” reporter, Mr. I). E. Dustin, chairman of the Association, said the bakers feel*That they cannot make any greater reduction in the price of. coupons than 3d per dozen. With flour at the present price the scale was in keeping with the one fixed by Bakers’ Associations in other centres, and as there was a danger of the strike of employees spreading to other towns, the trade had to safeguard its interests. “The ■cost of production has gone up £d per loaf,” added Mr. Dustin, “and tile bakers are not making very much profit out of the business.”
