ROWING.
POVERTY WAY CLUB. A special meeting of the Poverty Bay Rowing Club was field in the C'luhhouso fast night. There was a good attendance of niembers, and if was decided that the club obtain two four-oared club boats from Sir. Norton, of Wellington. The boats arc to be selected and simervised by Mr. A. Kirk (bon. sec.), who visits Wellington shortly. It was decided that the next Club assembly night will be held until I a.in., and a light supper will be provided. Owing to the success which lias attended these assemblv dances tho Club has decided to hold three additional socials at tile end of tlie present season. One of these will he on a large scale, and the proceeds will he devoted to the building fund for the new hoatslied. The committee meet again next Monday week, when the plans of the. new shed will he considered. THE SCULLING Cl TA !\ IPIONSHIP. [Pniiss Association.] WANGANUI, June 29. The second deposit of £3OO in tlm sculling championship race has been received by the stakeholder from Arnst’s committee at Christchurch, on behalf of the challenger. Webb’s bac'kcr will cover the deposit to-mor-row. on which date it is due. The linal deposit of £IOO is due'on August 30tli. ,
