The Native Land Court at Rotorua beard an important compensation case last week. The land upon which Rotorua’s electric power station stands was given to the Government, and the natives now claim that they hold an interest in the land, and as part owners ask £12.000 compensation. The amount involved, includes power, plant, etc. The case was adjourned pending a decision as to whether it should be heard before a Supreme Court judge.
