PERSONAL.
Mr. G. J. Black, of Kuiti, leaves today on a visit to Australia. He intends to journey to Queensland where lrs two sons are at present, and will make a close inspection of pastoral country in the Northern iStutc. Mr. Leslie Reynolds, C.E., met the Harbor Board last night in reference to reporting on the outer harbor scheme. Ho will shortly go to Tokohiuru Bay to report on harbor works here. Prom there lie returns to Otira to resume Iks duties as chief consulting engineer to Messrs John McLean and Sons, contractors for the Arthur’s Pass tunnel. Mr. Reynolds in the same district is also carrying out a water supply scheme for the town of Hokitika, where he will very probably be engaged to design harbor works for that port, mid upon which lie has already reported and his scheme adopted.
Mr. Oliver, who has been prominent in local athletic circles, intends to leave Gisborne shortly to take up a position in Wellington. The Rev. G. H. Stowell, Waipawa, arrives by the s.s. .Victoria this morning. He will occupy the pulpit at •St. Andrew’s Church to-morrow.
