Tho thanksgiving sorvico at St. Paul’s was stately and impressive, though there was studied simplicity. The Lord Mayor, Sliorift, and 600 delegates were present. The bishops wore their con vocation robes. The Archbishop of Canterbury brioflv reminded tho people Unit they must not look for the comuig of a few oolossal men to bo patterns and champions of life, but the Church must valiantly, persistently and hopefully strivo to mend what was crooked, ignorant, and amiss in the world. The bishops presented freowill offerings from the dioceses, amounting to £333,209,. England and Wales contributing ,6257,122, Scotland £ooJ9, Ireland £3939, tho army £391, English colonial diocese £63,695, land American dioceses £14,055.
