KAITI SCHOOL COMMITTEE

MONTHLY MEETING

The monthly meeting of the lvaiti School Committee wus Held last evening in the schoolbouse. Present: Messrs Fyson- (chairman), Huy, (Rowan, Brosiiahah, and Humphries’ (hon. sec.). The Headmaster s report was read and adopted. The report showed that the avoiugo attendance for the past quarter had been 142. The report of tho Inspector was read, and slated that tho school was under efficient control, tho teachers wore intelligent, tho general tone good, and the classes in good working order. A short discussion took place on the Uible-in-Schook question, and it was eventually decided, on tho motion of Mr. Hay, seconded by Mr. Tyson, to adopt the same resolution as has already been adopted by the Gisborne and Mangapapa Committees, und forward it to the Education Hoard. It was decided by the Committee that a scheme of works be proceeded with, to the value of £32, and to include tree planting at the school, a foot-bridge across the creek, and an entrance on tho main road, with gravelled paths. Accounts amounting to £3 4s 3d were passed, and the meeting concluded.
