The following were the shipments from this.port by the Tyser liner Star of New 'Zealand: 13,491 carcases of mutton, 1831 carcases lamb, 671 quarters of beef, 34 casks of casings., The Tyser liner Tomoana arrives from Auckland on Monday to load for London. The U.S.S. Co.’s Squall is due on Monday from Tologa Bay and Auckland.

A Press Association telegram from Christchurch states that Captain R. Strung, marine superintendent <J the Union Company, and Captain Cameron, a director of the Company, arrived from Dunedin by the s.s. Ario-

Speaking to a reporter, i Captain Strang said that CaptaiN Cameron and ho were very well sa f /sfiCu with the vessel, but that nothing would bo done in connection wi th the proposal to lit her up as a sailing ship for use as a training ship just yet. The clippor barque Loch Lomond, recently purchased by the Union Company, is now loading coal at Newcastle for Lyttelton. On arrival here the Loch Lomond will be inspected with the view of deciding whether she or the. Hartford is tile more suitable vessel to be fitted out as a training ship. In. the meantime the Dartford will proceed from Lyttelton tc •Kaiparn, where she will load a cargo of timber - for Sydney.
