From tlio “Wanganui Herald” Newspaper Company regarding posters for tho British match. A letter was received from the Town Clerk stating that tho Borough Council would lie pleased to accord tho visiting British team an official reception, and also that they would declare a partial holiday on Saturday, July •111, from 2 p.m*. to 5 p.m. A list of financial and active momburs of the Poverty. Bay Referee’s Association was received from tlio secretary of that body by request. A circular letter was received from tlio Now Zealand Rugby Union regarding suspensions and disqualifications imposed and removed. The secretary of the Takitimu Club wrote entering a protest against tlio Kaiti-Cit-y juniors for playing an ineligible mail in tho ganio against Takitinui juniors last Saturday.—After considerable discussion it was decided that tho protest !bo upheld, and that the match be replayed. It was further decided that tlio secretary of the Kaiti-Oity Club -bo writ--011 to asking why the Club played a man not a member of the Club; also that tlie West End Club be asked if tho player in question informed them that it was not liis intention to become a member of their Club this soassoii.
GENERAL. It- was resolved that tho curtainraiser to be played prior to the British match bo between a Thursday representative team and a team from the Alangatu sub-Union. It was decided that all Saturday club fixtures be postponed for a fortnight. The delegates from the Thursday .Clubs requested that no Saturday players be passed as eligible for tlio Thursday competition after tin's date. —Resolved.
It was resolved that the Star Club bo notified that they cannot take any further part in the Thursday competition until a. list of their 'financial members be forwarded to the Union. Air. Gordon Rowe was appointed captain of tlie team against tlie 'Waiapu sub-Union on Saturday, and Autino Potara Kaipara vice-captain. It was unanimously resolved that a player be written to as why ho did not put in an appearance at the trial matches, when selected, or why he did not forward an explanation to the selectors.
Messrs• Eaton,. Dustin, and Morse Were appointed a committee to.furnish a report on the proposed enter-’ tainmpnt of tho visiting British team. Various minor improvements on the ground wero proposed and sanctioned, and on the motion of All-.- Slierriff it was decided to board lip tlie outside of tho room under the grandstand at the eastern end, and estiblish communication between the two rooms tlnis created by means of a door; also that the shower bath be transferred into the newly-formed room. It was resolved that the Thursday •matches be postponed during race week.
