Star of New Zealand, s.s., in 4lay. Our Auckland correspondent states that Captain- 0. ’Hoiford has been temporarily appointed to tho command of tho Union- Company's now steamer Tofa. Captiin Alelloth will bring the Navua to Auckland. The U.S.S. Co.’s Aloana arrives from South to-morrow morning, and sails for Auckland later. Tho U.S.S. Co.’s Tarn we ra returns from Auckland on Sunday afternoon, and proceeds South during the evening. The auxiliary schooner Ivaco was taking in cargo yesterday. She will leave this evening for Coast ports and Auckland if the weather permits. The. schooner Awamii was loading artificial manure for Auckland at the Kaiti wharf yesterday, and will- sail when the weather moderates. The scow Seagull is discharged, and is awaiting favorable weather to sail for Afnngatete. Tho U.S.S. Co.’s Squall is timed to leave Auckland to-morrow afternoon for Tologa Bay and Gisborne. The U.S.S. Co.’s Haupiri is expected from Napier to-morrow night or Sunday morning, and will continue her voyage to Coast j>orts and Auckland.
Owing to tho rough weather in the bay yesterday, loading operations on tho s.s. Star of New Zealand were discontinued after one lighter had been worked. Tho Shaw ,Sayill Co.’s Karaimea is due to-day to load for London. She will take from this port, approximately 15.000 carcases, 400 bales of wool, and 200 casks of pelts and tallow. Loading is expected to be completed by to-morrow night, when tho vessel will proceed to Auckland, finally leaving that- port for London on Tuesday ■next. The U.S.S. Co.’s Wanaka arrives from South to-morrow morning with a quantity of general produce for this port. On discharge she will continue her trip to Auckland. , A Press Association telegram from Auckland states that the s.s. Cornwall has arrived from England, with 133 immigrants.
