DISAPPEARANCE OF LEMOINE* THE ENVELOPE OPENED. United Press Association. Copyright (Received June 18, 9.15 p.m.) PARIS, Juno 18. , Lemoine, having lied, the envelope containing his diamond-making formula was opened. It stated : “Take powdered sugar and carbon, place in a crucible, raise the temperature of the furnace to 1700 or 1800 degrees centigrade, and thus obtain crystallisation. Next apply pressure lid, and the diamonds are then made.” Experts describe it as an excellent hoax. Leihoine in a letter to the Magistrate. stated that tho owner of the factory impeded his experiments. If these were brought to a successful issue clesewhcrc lie would reappear to confound his detractors. A warrant has been issued for his. arrest.
