The U.S.'S. Co.’s Tarawera arrived from vSouth yesterday morning, after 41 stormy passage from Napier. She had a heavy- cargo for this port, and owing to this fact, and also the heavy <ea in the Bay, did not get away for Auckland until late in- the afternoon. The Huddart-Parker Co.’s A 7 ictoria arrived from Auckland yesterday afternoon. and proceeded South at night. Tlio IT.SiS. Co.’s Haupiri .left Greymouth yesterday morning for 'Napier and Gisborne. Site is due here on Saturday, and will sail the following day for Coast ports, and Auckland. The auxiliary schooner Kaeo is taking in cargo and will sail for Coast ports and Auckland when the weather moderates sufficiently. The' schooner Awanui will complete the discharge o-f her cargo for this port to-day. and will probably sail for Tologa Bay and Auckland this evoiiing, if the weather permits. The Typer liner Star of New Zealand arrived in the Bay last night from Auckland to load for London. The Tyser lino steamer Tomoana, which left, London on April 20 for New Zealand, via Australia, is expected to arrive -at AVellington about June 28. The “iSydn-ey Commerical News” savs that Captain Linkfater, who is still in command of the Tomoannf, reports very bad weather prevailed during the first portion- of the voyage, particularly in the longitude of the -Cape of Good Hope.. The wind occasionally developed hurricane vigor, and the seas rose to a great- -height, but although the ship was flung about a good deal, neither she nor her crew suffered any -illeffects. Later on the storm changed round to the eastward, culminating in a good serious of blinding blizin a series of blinding -blizzards off Cape Leeuwin, which completely obscured surroundings. The temperature was also very cold, and the- situation generally proved trying in the extreme.
