HAWKE’S BAY LAND BOARD

At a meeting of tlio Hawke’s Bay Land Board to-day, G. J. Black appeared on behalf of H. G. Black, liis son, who is present lessee of a small grazing run of 1929 acres in tlio Waingaromia Survey District, and protested against the proposal of tho Government to take over for doso settlement the whole of the run with tlio oxcoptioii of 900 acres, which his sou is to be allowed to retain. It was alleged by two membors of tho Board that tho Minister had decided to cut up two runs anil give a third back fo the lessee. Although the circumstances in each case wore similar, it was decided to recommend for the favorable consideration of tlio Min-, ister’that under the cirumstances now disclosed, Black should be offered a renewal of tho lease of tho whole run.
