Mr. S. Jickell, who has been in Gisborne lor a week to report upon a drainage scheme, left by the Aloana for Palmerston North last evening. Mr. William Be id, Grand Sire for Australasia for the 1.0.0. F.. passed through Gisborne yesterday en route to Dunedin from Sydney, where ho lias been attending the t.ri-ennial conference of the Order. He was met on his arrival by Mr. E. D. Smith, De-puty-Grand Master of . the Star of Gisborne Imdge, and Mr. B. Robb, and welcomed to the town. Mr. Reid stated that.the 1.0.0. F. is rapidly increasing in membership and funds throughout Ab.-trahisia, and is now one of the largest Lodges in the colonies. Ail blit two of the seven States, he said, had consolidated their sick fund, which showed great soundness of finance. _ = ,
