A MYSTERIOUS CASE.
MAN FOUND UNCONSCIOUS. HIS CONDITION SERIOUS. (Press Association.) WELLINGTON, J'une 4. Mr. Henry .H ill Beckett, a civil servant, who resides at Creswick, was found .lying on the Orangi-Kuupapa road, leading to Northland, in an unconscious state, at about hall-past nine last night. There was a wound ou the head-, and a pool of blood had formed close to where he was found. Dr Begg was summoned to a house to ivhicli Mr. Hill Beckett was conveyed, and on his. recommendation, the injured'man was taken’to the hospital, where lie is .in a very serious condition. The case is surrounded with some mystery. Mr. Hill Beckett may have fallen over a bank and injured his herd, or lie may ■ have been assaulted. ,
