(Special to “Times.”) AUCKLAND, June 3. A complimentary social is being given to Air. Baume, AI.P., to-night by his friends and- supporters, in St. Benediict’is. Hall. The Hon. Air. Fowlds will be present-. Llie gear on the deck and interior fittings of the.s.s. Aturitai have been removed, and it is expected that tho engines will -also be 6ucessfully removed. Led and Lady Plunket and staff leave on Tuesday next for •-Napier, whence after a week’s stay they proceed to Government Hoiise at Palmerston North. Air. Homes. AI.P.. is in town.
