NOTICE. TYPHOID AND OTHER FEVERS. NUMBER OF CASES ON THE INCREASE.
IN no disease is the common-sense Maxim of “PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE” more applicable than in Typhoid Fever. When the malady is prevalent, special attention should be directed to the Water Supply, the Drainage, and, more' important still, the thorough DISINFECTION of the Dwelling. Medical ‘ authorities all over the world have recommended Carbolic Acid in some form as the Best Medium of effecting this desirable end. Great care should bo exercised in handling crude Carbolic; if by accident taken inwardly it is deadly in its poisonous effect, and if it in any quantity comes in contact with the skin, serious burns or irritation immediately follows. A very Admirable, Safe and Effective Method of Using it has lately been introduced to the Public of Gisborne and District in the form of a MEDICATED SOAP, protected by letters patent and registered
