POVERTY BAY CLUB. The handicap tournament was com•mcnced 'at tho links on Saturday afternoon. As in past years, the tournament is divided into two classes, A and B. Three games wero got off in the A grade, and two in tlio B, and tlio results on the whole proved that the handicappoi'S had dono tlioir work well. Tho following wore.tho results: “A” TOURNAMENT. J. H. Bull (handicap 2 j defeated F. T. ■ Morgan (8), 4 up. F. H .Traili (2) dofeatod W. V. -It. liuttrell (6), I up. W. N. Barron (10) dofoatod I<. IV. Nolan (10), 3 up. “II” TOURNAMENT. . . E. A. Adair (15) defeated,H. W. Barker (20), 6 up and 4 to play. W. B. Willock (9) and R. Barker (9), all square. This was a capital gamo, and another good contest should onsuo when these playor meet in tho play-off. A. M. ilowden, the well-known ex-Otago and Auckland playor, did a round with W. Gibson. Howden went O it. in 47, lmt struck form on the homeward journey, and completed the full eouvso ill 89. ' Tho tournament will be continued ii -xt Saturday, when some interesting (Tames should bo witnessed. ° Tho captain (Mr. J.'H. Bull) and hen. secretary (Mr. J. H.
