A married woman named Jlossio BlaIcoway committed suicide at her residence on the Yii-ldlmrst Road, Riccarton, .about eleven o’clock last night. It appcai-s that she retired to hod about 9.45 p.m., hut when her husband returned homo at 11.30 p.m. he found the front door open and his wile missing. Ho immediately made a search, and found his wife’s body lying on its back in the orchard, about 50 yards from the house. There was a wound about two inches long on the throat, and the windpipe was sewered. There was a blood-stained table knife lying on the right hand side of the body. An inquest was held today, anil a verdict of suicide while of unsound mind was returned.
