Mr. Iveir Hardie, speaking at Bristol, referring to Empire day, declared that the Sociahsts might h ive interfered to prevent children in the schools being taught to wave flags and sing a ghastly lot ot doggerel like the National Anthem. . There were thousand of pulpit referS in London and provincial churches. Thero were many signs of popular dissatisfaction at the Government refusing to recognise the day.
