The usual concert will bo held this evening. The East Coast Mounted;; have a number of capable vocalists in the corps, and always present an attractive programme. Their concert always attracts a large audionco, and it is expected there will bo a full iiouso in the messroom this evening. 'On Saturday afternoon, it is intended that the local Government, corps will combino with tho mounted men in manoeuvres. Captain Beero, of tlie Gisborne Bifles, has a plan of operations sketched out, iind these will he submitted to the staff officers arriving to-day. Lieutenants Evans and Hamilton go up for their captain’s examination during the camp. It is doubtless very gratifying to Captain Tombleson and the other officers and men of tho squadron that such a large number of stiff officers are attending tho camp this year, and it also proves that the Council 0 f Defence is anxious to make its officers personally acquainted with tho efficiency of tho various corps in the Dominion.
