A meeting of employees of the Auckland Electric Tramway Company passed a resolution that in view of the company having dismissed several men without allowing them to adduce evidence in self-defence, the union considers the time has arrived when the company should be made to stand to its agreement. Unionists decided to insist upon the reinstatement of Conductor Herdson, or that a satisfactory ro lson bo given for his dismissal before noon to-morrow, failing which the men. will take measures to enforce compliance with their demand. In the event of a strike, the union decided that no unionist shall return to work with any “blackleg” labor that nny have been engaged by the company to run the cars. A EINAL ULTIMATUM. Later. A meting of the Union, attended by nr of tlie men to-night, unanimously confirmed the resolutions passed by the meeting this morning, and decided to issue a manifesto to the public, explaining the men’s case.
