I have a strong bolief in the l'uturo of the East Coast and its immense possibilities. I have noted with satisfaction the expansion of our trade and tho increase of our products, and lew things would'give me greater pleasure than seeing that rapid expansion continued even at a greater rate than hitherto. To aid this development, our shipping facilities must be improved and more frequent communication with outsido parts must be sought. As a member of tho Board for many years, my views on harbor matters generally no doubt are well known to you.
