Messrs Buxton, Ronald and Co.’s, Charles Balme and Co.’s, and Messrs Jacomb and _ Co.’s joint catalogue comprises 6887 bales of n fair selection, 3785 of which aro from New Zealand. There was somewhat animated bidding, and the opening was better than was expected. There was a record attendance of buyers. Compared with tho April closing sales, crossbreds all round show a decline of 10 per cent. Merinos are very irregular, and choicest have" declined 5 per cent, others show an average decline of about 10 per cent.
