Responding to tlio Kaiser’s tribute to a noble ruler, true ally, and mighty guaidian of the nonce, Emperor Joser Stated: “I ngard Austria-Hungary as a strength like Germany’s, based on the moiiai'diial principle, and the true, iHichanprng love of the pcoptd this dav fortifies me in the joyous expectation that an alliance pursuing none but pacific ends, effectually assisted by similar efforts of other Powers, will fully accomplish its object unto the remotest future.” Tlio event was marked with popular rejoicings, and choral and other festivities. . Jund Emanuel and other sovend heads of States seait special messages to Emperor Josef.
