At a .meeting of the committee of the Industrial Association held tonight, final arrangements were made for “local industries week” and a subcommittee was appointed to allot bv ballot the various sections of exhibition among different shops. A meeting of tlio band contest committee was hold on AA r ednesday evening when a cable message was received from Mr AV. Sliortram stating bis .willingness to adjudicate at the South Island contest! It was decided to hold the contest about the second week in December and that two test selections be obtained for each .grade and one test march for both grades. The prizes suggested are:—A. grade £l5O Ist, .£75 2nd, £SO 3rd. iB. Brado £75 Ist, £3O 2nd, £ls 3rd. .Marching competition £3O Ist, £lO 2nd, £5 3rd.
