AMERICAN FLEET.
ARRIVES ON AUGUST 9tH. A SIX DAYS’ VISIT. Press Association. AUCKLAND, May 6. Tlio Mayor (Mr A. M. Myers) has received the following telegram from Greymoutli:—“For your “informa--tion I am advised that tho American fleet will arrive in Auckland on August 9 and remain until August 15.” In reply, iMr .Myers has telegraphed to the 'Prime Minister as follows: “Many thanks for information re American fleet.- Should be glad if you would kindly, .furnish me witli particulars of the Government’s intended action as soon as possible so that the citizens committee can make arrangements accordingly.” The American Consul-General, 'Mr AY. A. Prickitt, has not so far received any confirmation of this information concerning the fleet’s' arrival.
