GOLF.

POVERTY BAY CLUB. A largo number of players of both soxos took advantage of the perfect weather on Saturday afternoon to get in some useful practice on tbo links. Considering it- is so early in the season, players generally showed capital form, and some good cards were brought in. Next Saturday will also be devoted to practice, and the programme for the season will comirienco on Saturday, 16th inst., with the monthly modal competition. The club has already secured a couple of firstclass new players, who will make the season’s play interesting, and the season should provo a highly successful one.
