WELLINGTON, April 29. An accident befell a middle-aged man named T. Hickey while engaged in “D” shed on tho Queen’s Wharf tins morning. He was stacking sacks of chaff, when tlio front of the heap fell outwards on fop of him. ’lt is feared that the unfortunato man lias suffered serious injury to his spine. Ho was attended by Dr. Henry, who ordered his removal to tho hospital, where he is in an unconscious condition.

At tho .Magistrate’s -Court to-day, Ja's. Sidney Hines was committed for trial on a charge of stealing -about £lls from a deaf and dumb man named David Gutlierland, at Wellington, on May 27th last.
