RUGBY r UNION. The periodical meeting of.the P.B. Rugby Union was held in tho Masonic Hotel last evening. Present: Messrs H. E. Maude (chairman), Wauchop. Eaton, Bright, Sherrill, Paelcy, and L. Maude (secretary). After the minutes of the previous meeting wore read and confirmed, correspondence was dealt with. Reuter’s. Telegraph Company asked for a, list of probable players in the English match,. together with the I characteristics of each player.—lnformation to bo supplied. Ryan Bros, wrote re the allocation o.f their cup.—Left for further consideration. t ' ■ Te Rata Hockey Club asked for the use of a ground for the season.—Received. ■ The P.B. Cricket Association asked for the uso of a. ground on Saturday. —Request not acceded to unless the Taruheru ground is. unfit for play. s The P.B. Cricket Association asked for a refund of gate money in the Auckland match.—Resolved that £1 Is bo donated towards tho expenses oi entertainment of the visiting team. y The P.B. Cricket Association objected to the new fencing, on tin ground that it would interfere with the playing "round.—Messrs Brignt, Eaton, and the chairman wero appointed to go into the matter. : A deputation representing Thursday footballers and the Hockey Association waited on the Union to assist in tho formulation of a schemo for tho regulation of the grounds for this year’s games. After considerable dis cussion, it was decided that tin Thursday players and the Association be each given the use of one ground, and that hockey and football gamer are to bo played alternately on Isos. I and 2 grounds. Tho Thursday players further asked for representation on the Union, and it was agreed to allow them one delegate for each of tho four clubs. Iji regard to referees for Thursday ganies, it -was decided 'that- such referees must first affiliate and become members of tho Referees’ Association. The question of appointing an hon--y surgeon, which was inadvert.ji.iy forgotten at the annual meeting, was considered, and Dr. Collins was unanimously appointed. Dr. Collins is also to be written to thanking him for his services in tho past. The question of extensive improvements to Victoria Domain was dismissed, and a final decision was reserved until a future meeting. It was inentiongrl that the Union hopes to commence such improvements -at au early d'ate. PAKEHAS v. MAORIS. The local football season will be opened on Saturday next with a match, Pakchas v. Maoris. The game will take place on Victoria Domain, and will commence at- 3 n.m. The following are the teams:— Pakehas:
