TENNIS.
The concluding games in tho Gisborne Club’s Easter tournament wore ulaved on tho Kaiti courts yesterday afternoon. Tho weather was ideal for tennis, but tho courts were plaj* iiig somewhat slow. Notwithstanding this, some excellent games resulted, and a number of exciting finishes were fought out. Appended aro the details of the day’s play: Men’s Championship Doubles. — Final: Barlow and Margoliouth beat Barron and Burke, 6-2, 6-o. Ladies’ Handicap Singles.—Filial: (Miss H. Sherratt beat Aliss D. Bright, GO-56. Aliss Bright conceded her opponent a handicap of 20 in 60, and although Maying an excellent game, could only get /within four points of Aliss Sherratt at tho finish. Aten’s Handicap Doubles. —Final: Alargoliouth and Barlow beat Barron and Burke, 104-102. This was a splendid game, the score being 100 all. and again 102 all, the former pair just winning by the very narrow margin of 2 points. ' Combined Handicap Doubles. — Semi-finals : Aliss Sherratt. and Barron beat- Aliss Boylan and Curtis, Airs, and Air. Burke beat Aliss de Latour and 11. Willock, 60-38. Filial: Aliss Sherratt and Barron beat Airs, and Mr. Burke, GO-55. Ladies’ Handicap Doubles.—Semifinals: Mrs. Burke and Atiss .Bradley beat Aliss de Lautour and Sherratt, 60-51; Aliss AlcCredie'aml Bright beat Alesdames Barlow and Carmichael, 60-37. Final: Misses Bright and AlcCrcdie beat Airs. •Burke'and Aliss Bradley, 60-57. In tho Men’s Handicap Singles the games still remaining to be played will take place on Air. Gaudin’s court within the next few days.
