MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
Co ns id era ble interest is already being taken, in the-approaching municipal elections, which are set down to take place on AVednesday-next, the 29th inst. Nominations closed yesterday both for the Alayoralty and for the vacant seat on the Council. The contest for the Alayoralty promises to bo a close and exciting one, and the supporters of both, candidates are equally cnr.'idont. The election of a councillor is also expected to be keen, each of the three aspirants for •civic honors having a strong following. The nominations are: AIAYORALTY. Lysuar, AVilliam Douglas; nominated by AV. J. Hennessy and A. Sawyer. AA'illiams, Jolm AA'illiam; nominated by AV. H, Tucker, J. Townlev, and A. AA’ade. COUNCIL SEAT. Darton, George Edward: nominated by J. Townloy and F. Stafford. Gaudin, AA'alter .James Payn; nominated by J. Wliiuray, A\ T , J./Cox, and E. Kirk. Harris. Francis Robert, nominated .by J. B. Jjeydon and AY. AA r cbb.
