Whilst returning from Christchurch to Ambcrley last evening, between the Empire bridge and Mr. Jury’s farm, on the north road to Kaiapoi, Mr. G. 13. Starkv had the misfortune to lose his motor ear. The fire occurred through Mr. Starky striking a match whilst examining a defect. The petrol caught fire, and blew the car to pieces, but Mr. Starky escaped ifhhurt.
