first AIEETIXG. (Press Association.) -AVELLINGTON, April 13. Hie first meeting of the third Board under the Government Railway Superannuation Fund Act, 190*2, was- held to-dqy. There wero prosont; Hon._ Hall-Jones. Alinister for Hallways (in the chair), the Solici-tor-General, Public Trustee, general manager for -railways, Alessrs A. Grahani (Timaru), and Air R. AI. Isaacs (AA ellingtou) representing the first division. ond N. Pepper, -AI. Thomas, and J. Dawson, rep resenting the second division. The*-Board dealt with 14,cases of retirement, and passed allowances in connection therewith, totalling £B7S per year. Refunds of contrihut ions, amounting to £4OB, wero made with respect to 54 persons, who had been contributing to the fund. An allowance of £lB per year was made t () an engine driver’s widow, and £.13 -a year" to tho posthumous child of a station master. It is- understood that the income of tho fund last year was approximately £51.000, and that the payments >"-ulo from the fund amounted to £35,000.
