Air AV. J. Hawley, the local collector of customs, has been transferred to Timaru, and will be succeeded here by Air Howie, late collector at- Greynioutli. , , , -Air. Reginald H. Copeland, advance representative for AVest’s Pictures, is at -present in town making arrangements for a short season -at the local theatre. The company will open on Thursday night week. Among the passengers by coach yesterday were Airs. R. AI. Jones, for Waikaremoana, via Morere; Mr. A. J. Cox, for AVaikaremoana, via Tiniroto; Alessrs. Hull, Stevens, and Lorry, for Wairoa.
