GOLF.
Tlie annual meeting of the Poverty Bay Golf Club was held at the Poverty Bay Farmers’ Club rooms on Tuesday evening, Mr G. Grant in che chair. The report and balance sheet, showing a credit balance of £53 os 8d for the past year were read and adopted. Tho following officers were elected : President, Mr Geoffrey McLean; vice-President, Mr G. Grant; Captain, Mr H. J. Bull; secretary and treasurer, Mr -J. M. Curtis; Committee: Messrs A. Cutlibert, G. Darton, Selby, H. Palmer, AV. A. Barrow, N. F. Nolan, W. It. Barker, 15. M. Hutchinson and A. T. Coleman; green committee: Messrs Bull, Darton, and Pare Iveiha; auditor, Mr AV. B. W illock. Messrs A. AV. Atoodie, F. AV. T. Traill, AV. P. A r eitch, N. 801 l and Dr. G. Smith were elected members of the club. The report stated that play will bo continued on tho links and the formal opening will probably take place this month. The club was negotiating for the purchase of new links on. the AA T ai-o-hi-harore and Awapuni blocks, and the property, if acquired, should prove excellent for golf purposes. The members wero showing a great deal of enthusiasm in the affairs of the club and a successful season was anticipated.
A hearty- vote of thanks was passed to the proprietors of ithe. 'land -used as links last season and to the ladies who provided refreshments. A vote of thauks was also passed to the retiring chairman, Air Grant, for his work during the year.
