SHIPPING DIFFICULTIES.
The heavy weather, which raged on Monday ana Tuesday, moderated towards midday yesterday, aud there were patches of sunshine during tho iflernoon. The Monowai arrived aier a rough passage from Napier at •i OO Ut 5 a.m.. and was tendered at i n.m. by the Tuatea. Tho sea was so high that it was found impossible to use the gangway, and the passengers were swung into the launch, at great inconvenience, but without accident, in baskets. There wero fifteen polo ponies on board, and it was thought they would have to be carried to Auckland; but during the afternoon it was found possible to swing them on to the lighters, and they were got ashore without mishap. The AVimmera arrived from Auckland about 7 p.m. after a stormy passage, most of the passengers suffering on the voyage. The Tuatea: went out immediately the vessel reached the bay, and the passengers wero got on to the launch by the gangway without difficulty.
