Two boats landed during the night at Cuttagee, and -later the raft was washed ashore at Wallagoot, after drifting for seven hours. All aboard were well. At tho time of tho disaster the weather was line, hut a misty rain was falling, and there was a light wind. Relief was sent to tho shipwrecked people, vho saved only tho clothes in which t ey stood. A relief steamer was despatched from Bermagui .to pick them up. Tho Bega was in charge of Captain Bishop, one of the company’s most trusted officers. , The steamer was loaded and manned by non-unionists. On receipt of the news the joint executive strike com mitteo passed a resolution or sympathy with the company in its loss.
