As mentioned in the report, Theoloro Endleberger, bankrupt, with vliom his creditors expressed sympathy, on account of -severe illness, dates: —“I came to New Zealand n January, 1906, and went into ’arming at Matamata with one Freleriek Lang. I had £290 when 1 ar•ived. I lost my money at farming, md I started as a doctor on May Ist, 1906. I. had then £9O left. I iad made an arrangement with the Matamata settlers that they should guarantee £l2O per year. There were 30 subscribers at 30s each. The subscribers were to get medical attention at half rates. I bought dings and instruments and built a house. I arranged with Mr. Abbot, storekeeper, of Matamata, to supply nf with building material. I was to gj'e him a' mortgage for £2OO when tc house was ready. Tho amount < the guarantee was to be paid tc {■ on the Ist September, 1906, and 1 anticipation of receiving this mon 1 incurred certain debts, and was (appointed at not receiving the jirantee money at the right time, ave the collecting of the guaraui money to Mr. Abbot. I believe 1 collected £7l. Subsequently 1 meted about £3O more, and there till some owing. Mr. Abbot reled the' £7l, as the £2OO mortp was insufficient to satisfy liis <H. I expected that the guaranfwoukl bo a continuous one, and t I should receive the same amc (£120) every year, but only a fof the subscribers would nay aflilie first year. I expected to it £3OO a year in fees beyond the jy guarantee. I have been disunited in not getting the guarantee after tlie first year, and in " tjutside fees being less than the " * I attribute my position to the f|o of the guarantee, as stated, alo the insufficiency of the outr si fees. I consider, however, tiny assets are sufficient to pay * ittbts, unless they are sacrificed s > bforced realisation.
