LABOR PARTIES FORM ALLIANCE. • THE LICENSING BILL. United Press Association—Copyright (Received April 2, 10.28 p.m.) LONDON. April 2. The/Labor groups in tho House of Commons have formed an alliance, limited to the present Parliament, for united action in tho matter ox labor questions, and also' toiundertake that neither group , will interfere -with the other regarding sitting members or selected candidates at •by-elections. ' ~ Mr. Cave, on Monday, moves the rejection of tho Licensing Bill on the ground that it fails to promote tem- _ perance, and that it will violate the principle of equity. . Mr. Asquith, addressing tho London United Liberal Association, said the Government has accepted - challenge on the Licensing Bill, and is quite prepared to face the clamor. He declared that gilt-edged securities had risen since the bill " as ™ troduced, thus showing that the Government’s policy was not considered to be rapine and plunder.
