' ~ Mr. Cave, on Monday, moves the rejection of tho Licensing Bill on the ground that it fails to promote tem- _ perance, and that it will violate the principle of equity. . Mr. Asquith, addressing tho London United Liberal Association, said the Government has accepted - challenge on the Licensing Bill, and is quite prepared to face the clamor. He declared that gilt-edged securities had risen since the bill " as ™ troduced, thus showing that the Government’s policy was not considered to be rapine and plunder.
