A mass mooting of Chinese merchants discussed the T'atau Mam incident, and adopted tho series of resolutions cabled on March 28th, in favor of boycotting Japanese goods with the addition of a resolution that the .Chinese bear no ill-will to their Japanese friends. Two rival Chinese factions co-oper-ated in tho movement. Tho chairman read a cable from Canton asking for the despatch of no goods by Japanese, steamers and the purchase of none. Patriotic speeches were delivered. The >chairmau said the Chinese realised that tho omly instrument of war possessed at present in their relations with the rest of tho world was commercialism. Japan not having played the game, Chinese were determined tq enforce boveot until the humiliation indicted on them was removed. He demanded the' _ impeachment of Yuanshikai for yielding to tho last gross injustice, and unreasonable demands..
